Are you open year-round?
Yes! But, being just a mom-and-pop store, we close for 1 or 2 weeks in January to attend our annual trade show to buy products for the new year, and we close for another week or two somewhere in May/June/July/August for a little vacation time. So check our website or social media sites for our schedule!
How do I rent?
Pick out the costume you need (we'll help by putting the appropriate accessories together to make it complete). Then fill out a Rental Agreement and together we'll select a pick-up and a return date, have you leave a refundable deposit, pay your rental and pick up your costume on the designated Pick-Up Date, have fun (contractually required), return your costume on the designated Return Date, get your deposit back, and that's it! We usually close our Rental Floor 45 minutes to an hour before our closing time, so come in early!

We have dressing rooms to try everything on. We can do minor alterations as required.
Do I need to clean the costume?
No! We take care of all the cleaning. The costume is clean when you pick it up and we'll clean it again after you return it. You don't need to worry about that at all!
Can I make any alterations to the costume once I have it?
No, sorry. We like to say "No, that is ours". We will work with you for proper fitting and perform any minor alterations for you. This way, we ensure the integrity of our delivered product, and protect the product for future uses!
How do I order contact lenses from Broadway Costumes?
Yep, we carry Contact Lenses! But not in-store. They must be purchased through our online partner, Primal Contact Lenses. Use the left Button to begin your order process on the Primal website or use the right Button to visit their Frequently Asked Questions website for more information.
By going through our website, you get a discount when purchasing your Contact Lenses!
We started in 1965 by making our costumes and adding to that by purchasing the inventory from a costume shop in the L.A. area that was closing. Then we made more costumes as well as buying additional costumes over time - all to get to the point where we are today. Check out our Pictures of Costumes from the menu above to see just some of the variety we have, or click the Button below to check our current rental Catalog (updated August 2024) for the entire list.

Is there a good resource available to see what theatrical shows are playing in the Sacramento area?
A good resource is the SARTA website. SARTA is the Sacramento Area Regional Theater Alliance. Many community theater organizations post their upcoming schedule on SARTA's calendar which can be accessed by the public. Click on the following Button and then scroll down on the website to see the calendar of upcoming events.
We can show you what products we have and how you would generally apply them (we even have tester samples on-hand to help out). But we are not licensed estheticians so we cannot apply the make-up directly - you have to do that yourself, or hire a licensed professional. We have a bulletin board with many local make-up artists willing to be hired by you as you need.
We sure can - here you go!
